Fred Baranowski currently serves as the Escondido Regional President for Sunrise Bank. Mr. Baranowski has 31 years of experience in the banking industry, most of them spent in San Diego County. He most recently served as a community banker with Southwest Community Bank and First Pacific Bank. In addition to his experience in the financial industry, Mr. Baranowski served as Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of San Diego County from 2002-2005 and, under his leadership, the United Way developed an innovative “Community Impact Model” that directed United Way funding to critical community needs. As President of the Downtown San Diego Partnership from 2000 to 2002, Mr. Baranowski represented the interests of business owners in downtown redevelopment initiatives. He has served on a number of nonprofit boards, including the California Center for Sustainable Energy, and as chairman of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Humane Society.
Mr. Baranowski graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1974 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
