Gay Rowan

When Gay Rowan sought to serve as a member of the YWCA of San Diego County, she wrote that she viewed her appointment as “a way to give back, to be of service, and to touch the many women in San Diego who deserve to be given the opportunity of bettering themselves. Gay’s career as a successful businesswoman has given her the insight and experience necessary to pursue the YWCA’s mission to help women and make a difference in their lives. As the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Publicity for Walt Disney Studios in Hollywood, Gay worked closely with all segments of the entertainment industry to create compelling messages and reach out to all groups in the community. However, she realized that, for her, happiness was in helping others more directly.

Ms. Rowan founded LGR Insurance Group, Long Term Care Specialists in 1996 to help people with their long term care needs. Many of the care givers are women, and she helps them deal with this challenging responsibility through education and planning. She was awarded a degree in Psychology from the Union Institute/University of Cincinnati.
