Becky's House® Transitions Program

The Becky’s House® Transitions Program presents an opportunity to partner with the YWCA of San Diego County in assisting survivors of domestic violence in becoming self-sufficient and independent.  For one year, the YWCA of San Diego County will work with your tenant to canvas all areas of self-sufficiency, which include: monthly case management, monthly unit inspections, monthly trainings and seminars, as well as periodic communication and interaction with you as the Landlord.  The YWCA of San Diego County will Master Lease your unit for up to one year. The goal of this program is to assist families in establishing permanent housing by allowing the tenant to assume responsibility for the lease entirely proceeding into the second year.

Benefits for the Landlord

  • Supportive Services-the Becky’s House® Housing Coordinator will be visiting and checking in on your tenant monthly to confirm that the unit is properly maintained and well-kept, in addition to following up that rent and utility payments are being made on time.
  • Guaranteed Monthly Payments- as a Master Leasor, the YWCA of San Diego County will supply monthly rent payments to the Landlord for up to one year.
  • Continued Occupancy-the lease term will be up to one year, and then it may vary according to your agreement with the tenant during the course of the second year.
  • Business As Usual-the Landlord is to treat the tenant the same as they would any other tenant.
  • Good Samaritan-the Landlord has the opportunity to take part in the beneficial transition of a local family.
