In Kind Donations - Wishlist

Thank you for your interest in donating to the YWCA of San Diego County!

We have received a high volume of adult clothing donations over the past week and, in order to allow us time to sort and distribute current inventory, we have placed a temporary hold on clothing donations for adults (men & women's clothing). We also are unable to accept baby clothing size 0-12M

We are still accepting donations of new and gently used clothing for children (12M and up). We are also gratefully accepting donations of usable household items, such as kettles, pots, pans, dishware, silverware and electronics. Please note that all donated items must be either new or very gently used and in working condition. We do not have the staff or resources available to mend or clean items.

If you have a donation to make, please drop if off to the YWCA's main administration on 1012 C Street, San Diego CA 92101 on Monday OR Thursday between 9am and 5:30pm.

Please be aware that we cannot accept donations outside of the hours outlined above. If you cannot make it to our offices during these hours, please click here to view some other organizations that would be very happy to receive your donation. Please also be aware that we are closed on some public holidays - please call (619) 239-0355 x 207 prior to dropping off donations on public holidays.

All clothing and household items are taken to Becky's Boutique, a small "thrift shop-style" store where residents in the YWCA's programs are able to shop at no cost. We are currently looking for volunteers to help run the Boutique. If you are interested, please click here to complete a volunteer application form

To Becky's Boutique,
Thank you for all that you do. Not only have you given me the opportunity to dress like a 'normal' person, you let me feel like a princess each time I enter the store. We are so blessed to have Becky's Boutique and it takes special people to run the store. Thank you!
~ Kristy, Resident of Becky's House® Emergency Shelter

Vehicle Donations

Donating a Car, Boat, or RV that's no longer needed to the YWCA of San Diego County is a great way to provide critical funding to our programs.  The YWCA works with an organization called Action Donation Services in order to coordinate vehicle donations.

Action Donation Services evaluates each and every donation on a case by case basis. Whenever financially beneficial, Action Donation Services will repair, refurbish, and properly prepare donated property for sale. The ultimate goal is to maximize the selling price. Action Donation Services also has the option of selling property on the retail market (not wholesale) in order to achieve the maximum resale value. When feasible, property which is sold at auction is carefully prepared to bring the maximum price. This unique feature of the Action Donation Services greatly increases the income generated for the charities for each donation. This can also dramatically increase the maximum legal tax deduction available for the donor.

Action Donation Services will issue your tax receipt on behalf of the YWCA of San Diego County and mail it to you as soon as your donated property is sold.
