In Kind Donations

We are always in need of gently used clothing for women, men and children of all ages and sizes (inc. shoes, bags, hats, belts etc.). All items are taken to our on-site client store called Becky’s Boutique. The boutique is open to all of our clients and allows them to shop for clothing, shoes, bags and other assorted items at no cost.

Currently in Becky’s Boutique, we have a high need of:

  • Baby clothes for boys (particularly sizes infant – 9 months)
  • New bras
  • New underwear (all sizes)
  • Scrubs (especially larger sizes, e.g. 2XL or bigger)
  • Socks (all sizes)
  • Exercise clothes
  • Tights
  • Formal Shoes (to be used for job interviews etc.) – size 8½
  • Women’s Pants and Jeans – Medium/Long 
  • Women's Pants and Jeans - 22W
  • Pants/T-shirts for children 3-5 years old and 8 years old

If you have items to donate, please drop them off at 1012 C St, San Diego 92101, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

Unfortunately we do not have the staff and time available to clean or mend items so we ask that all clothing donations be in good condition (gently used or new) and clean.

We also have need for other larger or more specific items from time to time. Below is a current wishlist of items. If the item you wish to donate does not appear in the list, please take the time to complete our Donation Information Form and a YWCA staff member will be in contact with you to discuss the donation further.

Donation Wish List:

Current/Ongoing High Need:

  • Hygiene products and toiletries, for example female sanitary items, shampoo, conditioner, soap, tissues, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush etc. 
  • Fixodent (Denture cream/adhesive)

Furniture (All items need to be in new or very gently used condition):

  • Small Dinette Sets (Tables w/4 chairs)
  • NEW Floor Rugs (either 9 x 6 or 10 x 12)
  • Full Bed with Frame and Mattress 
  • Air Conditioning Unit for Children's Room at Becky's House® 
  • Mini Furniture for kids (small chairs, tables, bean bag chairs, etc.)
  • Side Chairs
  • Small Couches/Loveseats
  • Dresser (for clothing)
  • Bedside Night Stand
  • Couch/Sofa
  • Coffee Table
  • TV Stand

Household Items:

  • NEW only pillows / blankets / mattress covers / bathtowels / washcloths / pillow cases / sheets / TWIN Size Mattress Pads 
  • NEW Silverware 
  • NEW Sturdy plastic cups / plates / bowls
  • Utensil holders
  • Napkin holders
  • Curtains and Curtain Rods
  • Crockery (Plates, Dishes etc.)
  • Drinking Glasses/Cups
  • Coffee Maker
  • Trash Cans

Electrical Goods:

  • Fan

Items for Children:

  • Lego
  • NEW Coloring Books

  • Wii Video Games for Teenagers

Miscellaneous:

  • Gift Cards/Certificates to places such as Target, Wal-Mart, Von's, Albertson's, Ralph's, Trader Joe's, Sears, etc. 
  • Day passes/Tokens for Bus and Trolley
  • Tickets to movies, sporting events, theme parks
  • Basic Tool Kit
